The factors that doctors take into account in evaluating an individual
patient’s prognosis include the number of coronary arteries that are
damaged; the patient’s capacity for physical exercise or activity; a history
of previous heart attacks or bypass surgery; and the severity of the patient’s
present symptoms—particularly unstable angina or a heart attack.
